A “community happening” in Forest Hill, SE London that took place on Thursday 02 December in which local businesses became mini performance spaces, local people transformed empty shops into Christmas pop-ups, the old post office became a Christmas cocktail bar, and local pubs and restaurants turned into local community networking and workshop venues http://popupforesthill.wordpress.com/
Called Who is…? Forest Hill, its point was to inspire the people of Forest Hill about being members of a vibrant and dynamic local community through an event made up of local community run activities that celebrate what makes our community (our assets) – our skills, shared interests, the buildings and facilities that support our activities, the businesses that operate and the groups and associations that exist here. To also engage the people of Forest Hill within this event in exploring connections and relationships that could better support our local economy and the local services we all need, use and share as a community.
Wanted to thank you so much for some inspiring input yesterday at the NCCSL conference. Too much to process now, but it was great to hear and I know all of us, in the talking we did later in the evening have been made properly uncomfortable about any remaining complacency in the way we develop school. The job is just too big to be complacent for long. I’m at http://www.cts.milton-keynes.sch.uk if you fancy a visit to MK roots.

Dear Nat
We are very close to submitting our application for a new state secondary in south west hackney. We have well over 300 parents who support the philosophy.
We’d love to talk to you more about our plans. Please see the website for further details.
Kind regards
Phillippa
We were very interested to hear you are visiting Teach for China. We want to help ALL Chinese kids to get a good education and we think our new smart learning tools can help with basic literacy.
Could you help us hook up to the right people?
Best,
Ben Jolliffe
